WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Three Pac-10 athletes were named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Women’s At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday. ARIZONA STATE junior diver Elina Eggers was a first-team selection, STANFORD senior lacrosse player Sarah Flynn was named to the second team and WASHINGTON senior tennis player Venise Chan is a member of the third team.
The Women’s At-Large program for Academic All-America includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
Eggers, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, carries a 3.96 GPA in economics. Flynn, a biology major from Baltimore, Md., has a 3.80 GPA. Chan, a Hong Kong native, has a 3.63 in business administration and marketing.
